Ian is a skilled farrier who has been trimming & shoeing for over 20 years. He runs a small business in southeast Scotland and lives with his wife Hannah and their two children, Amber and Oliver. Ian has had the chance to work, compete, Judge, lecture and learn from other professionals in various countries around the world. These experiences have helped him gain knowledge and skills that have contributed to his success. He has achieved multiple successes in his career, including a 4th place finish at the world championships in Calgary, 1st in the individual at the international at Stoneleigh England, Scottish Team member for a number of years, Swiss international champion, 6 times overall champion at the royal Highland Show…….

This success at farrier contests has contributed to his ever increasing CV and privileged roles as a clinician and judge at national and international levels.

Ian also has a high end reputation for his every day work and is always in high demand. Ian deals with most breed types and disciplines. His main involvement, is the multi discipline athlete event horse but also takes a number of referrals involving various lamenesses, pathologies and general poor performance where often a sympathetic approach to trimming or shoeing is needed. His ability to problem solve, adapt and overcome as well as his communication with owners and other equine professionals, often sets his services apart from others.
